PCO judges verdict: SC takes notice over non-implementation
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has taken notice over the non-implementation of its decision in the PCO Judges case and fixed the hearing of the case on August 5, Geo News reported.
The apex court has also issued notices to the Attorney General and Law Secretary.
In its May 18 decision, the Supreme Court had declared that seven High Court Judges who had taken oath under the PCO were never judges. The government had assured the court that it would implement this decision but despite this assurance the judges were never de-notified.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim had held a hearing on the matter in his chamber last month and the now this matter will be taken up by a Supreme Court Bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry.
