According to sources, the search operation will be carried out against criminals with an aim to arrest the unabated target killings and armed clashes in various parts of the city.

Sources said that the Police Intelligence Network (PIN) had divided the city into three zones; red, yellow and green and recommended the authorities to conduct the search operation to maintain peace in the city.

Meanwhile, a meeting held under Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah decided to deal with terrorists and anti-social elements with iron hand and Rangers and police will promptly and indiscriminately act against these elements. It was also decided that Frontier Constabulary would be given the powers of police and they would remain on duty as reserved force and their services would be utilised as needed.

Sources said the PIN has also suggested that Rangers, police, female personnel and commandos be engaged for door-to-door search operation while putting the FC personnel as a backup force.

Sources said search operation would be conducted in phases with an aim to cut off the supply chain of illegal weapons in the city and root out culprits from the most affected areas.

They said that it was also observed that the culprits, who disturbed law and order situation, were not permanent residents of the city.
