New provinces to help improve governance: Javed Hashmi
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) senior leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Tuesday that there was no harm in creating new provinces, as this would help ensure better administration and improved governance.
“If more provinces can be created in other countries on the demand of people, why cannot such practice be adopted in Pakistan?” he queried.
In an exclusive talk with APP outside the Parliament House, Hashmi said that the creation of more provinces would be a step towards addressing problems faced by the masses.
Answering a question on the submission of a Bill for the creation of new provinces, the PML-N leader said that he would support it, adding that the political leadership should listen to the people and make sincere efforts to redress their grievances.
Hashmi said the country was facing problems and decisive action was required to provide relief to the people and to remove their deprivation.
He said that if people were kept deprived of the basic necessities of life, they would agitate for their rights, so democratic forces should pay attention to the needs of common people and provide relief to them. app
