ANP expresses reservation over restoration of LG system 2001
Staff Report
KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) has expressed serious reservation over the restoration of Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO) 2001 in Karachi, Hyderabad and termed it an unannounced deal of a future Muhajir province.
In this regard, the ANP stopped its Sindh Labour Minister Ameer Nawab from performing his duties.
President ANP Sindh briefing the media at Mardan House stated this on Sunday. He criticised the government move and for not consulting them before the decision. “Karachi and Hyderabad are parts of Sindh and ANP consider the restoration of LG system as ethnic division of Sindh as well as termed it an unannounced deal of a future Muhajir province,” he remarked.
He said if things did not change soon, it would become difficult for the ANP to work with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) coalition. Syed said the bill on the commissionerate system has been set aside due to political expediencies and their party will strongly oppose the LG bill in Sindh Assembly.
