Over 100 KESC feeders trip due to rain
KARACHI: Over 100 KESC feeders tripped due to rain, causing power outages in several areas of the city, Geo News reported Thursday. Electricity supply was suspended to Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jahur, Malir, Sadar, Lyari, Korangi, Baldia, F.B. Area, North Karachi, Delhi Colony and parts of the city due to cable faults and other technical reasons.According to the KESC spokesperson, 10% of feeders tripped due to the rain and special task teams have been in the field since last night trying to control the faults. In many areas the feeders have been turned on while work continues in affected areas.
KESC has appealed to the people to inform at their helpline 118 if they see broken cables. The spokesperson added that presently over three hours of loadshedding is taking place in the city.
