Rain in Sindh submerges low-lying areas
ISLAMABAD: Monsoon rains continued in the upper parts of the country including Peshawar, Swat, Rawalpindi and Islamabad that turned weather pleasant and submerged low-lying areas, Geo News reported.
Rain continued for two hours in the twin cities that that filled the roads with water while submerged many low areas.
The recent monsoon spell has brought respite in the hot weather which will continue for the next few days. Peshawar and Swat also received downpour along with thunderstorm, decreasing mercury level in the areas.
Rain also lashed many areas of Sindh including Badin while many villages were submerged in rainwater. The routes to the affected villages are also blocked due to the stagnant rainwater.
District administration has set up 30 relief camps throughout the district however the affected people who reached those camps complained that they were not attended by any government official nor any arrangement was done to serve in Sehri and Aftaar since Thursday evening.
In Mirpurkhas, a roof of a house collapsed due to heavy downpour that killed six people while four others were injured.
Other districts of Sindh including Thatta are also facing difficulties post monsoon rains as the water has immersed houses in many areas while no arrangement has been done to control the situation so far.
Many areas of Hyderabad including Sabzi Mandi, Railway Colony, Latifabad No.2 and 6 are also affected by heavy rainfall.
