Musharraf says ‘love, trust and support’ made him decide to contest in elections


LAHORE: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) President Pervez Musharraf, in his birthday message, said that the support, love and trust of people living abroad and in Pakistan have compelled him to take part in the next polls. He addressed a function arranged on Thursday to celebrate his birthday through a recorded video message. Musharraf said that he had been in UK and USA where many Pakistanis supported him and asked him to go back to Pakistan and serve the nation again. He said that this had made him decide to contest the next elections. He said that he would convert the dispersed support into a collective entity, which would definitely make Pakistan turn the corner and put it on the road to development. He said that he was sure, after ruling the country for eight years, that Pakistanis were very talented and capable of making a difference. He said that he would do anything for the prosperity of Pakistan. He also asked minorities to join hands with him for Pakistan’s betterment. staff report
