Break the bowl; retrieve lost image by honest conviction: Shahbaz
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said, “On the one hand there is a begging bowl and on the other a nuclear power, its like fire and water, either the bowl has to be broken or the nuclear power will be snatched away from us.”
He was addressing an Independence Day ceremony at Hazoori Bagh here.
A contingent of Rangers presented an impressive guard of honour to the chief minister on this occasion. He hoisted the Pakistani Flag at Alamgiri Gate, laid a wreath on the Mazar-e-Iqbal and offered ‘Fateha’.
Shahbaz Sharif said that a separate homeland was achieved with the untiring efforts of the Quaid-e-Azam and sacrifices of the millions of people. “It’s a Day to pay tributes to Allama Iqbal”, he said.
He said that Pakistan today was beset with load shedding, hyperinflation, lawlessness, terrorism and corruption and added that the lost image would have to be retrieved by honesty and by bridging the trust deficit.
