JCP proposes confirmation of 7 additional judges

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has proposed the confirmation of four additional judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and three judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
According to details, this was decided in a meeting of the JCP held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
The JCP, in its meeting, recommended the parliamentary committee to confirm the services of three Additional Judges of the LHC, namely, Justice Saghir Ahmed Qadri, Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan and Justice Khawaja Imtiaz.
The commission also proposed the committee for the confirmation of four Additional Judges of the PHC, namely Justice Mazhar Alam Khan, Justice Attaullah Khan, Justice Miftahuddin and Justice Wasi ul Mulk.
All four Chief Justices of the high courts, including LHC Chief Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Sindh High Court Chief Justice Mushir Alam, PHC Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, have been a part of the JCP.
