Ulema call for peace bodies to quell anti-peace elements
KARACHI: Speakers at Ulema convention urged the scholars of all school of thoughts and clerics to form peace committees at their relevant mosques, seminaries levels, and localities to foil the conspiracies of anti-peace elements and to keep vigil on miscreants.
The Ulema and religious leaders of various organisations said this while addressing Ulema Peace Convention organised under the aegis of Ulema Aman Council Karachi held here recently at Jamia-e-Darasat.
Jamaat-ud-Dawa Pakistan Amir Prof Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on the occasion said that conspiracies were being hatched to destabilise Pakistan by fanning penchant and biasness, adding that the country is also being destabilised economically under designed plots.
He said foreign intervention is tantamount to termite, which is licking the solidarity, and autonomy of the country, saying no peace can take place without rooting out the foreign hands. The coalition of religious forces may foil the foreign conspiracies, adding, people should unify beyond their differences, Saeed said. The convention was addressed by JI Sindh Amir Asadullah Bhutto, JI Karachi Amir Muhammad Husssain Mehanti, JUI-F leader Maulana Abdul Kareem Abid, Jamiat Ittihad Ulma leader Maulana Abdul Raoof, Qari Zamir Akhtar Mansoori, Jamiat Ulma-e-Pakistan leader Sahibzada Owais Noorani, Dr Siddiq Rathore, Mustaqeem Noorani, Muhammad Ashraf Goormani, Jamaat-e-Ghurba Aehley Hadees leader Hafiz Muhammad Salafi, JUI-S Mulana Ghulam Mustafa Farooqui, and others.
They said Karachi is the biggest target of these elements, adding, there is need to investigate into the matter seriously. “Our coalition should not be for personal, or ethnic interests but it be for Islam”, they stressed. staff report
