Meeting at Presidency discusses Karachi
ISLAMABAD: A high level meeting chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari is discussing the security situation in Karachi, Geo News reported. The President has directed that compensation be paid to victims of torture.President Zardari also telephoned MQM chief Altaf Hussain and discussed the situation in Karachi with him. The meeting is being attended by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, federal minister Khursheed Shah, provincial ministers; Manzoor Wasan, Sharjeel Memon, Ayaz Soomro, Agha Siraj Durrani, Ali Nawaz Shah, MNA Abdul Qadir Patel and presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar.
According to sources, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad is also attending the meeting. A statement issued by the presidential spokesman said that the Governor and Chief Minister Sindh briefed the President about the situation in Karachi.
