Court presses FIA for Musharraf’s assets details


RAWALPINDI: The accused in Benazir Bhutto murder case maybe convicted on August 27, Geo News reported Saturday.

According to details, the special court hearing the case has also cut the concerned authorities a last slack to produce details of absconder Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf’s assets.

During the course of hearing, which was held at District Court instead of Adiala Jail, the FIA counsel told the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) that GHQ and DHA authorities are sitting on the information regarding former president’s assets and are not cooperating with the agency. To this, the judge said that write those two institutions for the last time for the same.

Later the court, before adjourning the hearing, ordered that all the defendants’ lawyers should be provided with the copies of the case files so that the accused could be convicted on August 27.

The special court also recorded the testimonies of two witnesses while hearing a case against Lal Masjid’s Khatib Maulana Abdul Aziz accused of murdering a Rangers personal. The next hearing falls on August 23, 2011.
