Altaf asks PM to resign if can’t stop bloodbath
KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain has demanded to the Prime Minister Gilani to step down if he was unable to stop the bloodshed on innocent Mohajirs in Karachi. Altaf said that he had informed the Prime Minister a number of times about the terrorist elements responsible for destroying peace in Karachi, a statement issued from MQM London Secretariat on late Monday. Small business holders, traders, industrialists, transporters, journalists, media persons, camera men, photographs, and common citizens were hit by the violent activities of the terrorist elements directly or indirectly, but it was unfortunate that no action was taken against these terrorist elements. He said that the inhuman bloodshed of innocent citizens continued in Karachi ceaselessly, he added. Altaf asked how long the citizens and the people at the helm of affairs would remain silent spectators to the incidents of terrorism. “I, therefore, demand of President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to stop the savage killings and chopping of the bodies of the innocent citizens of Karachi and bring to justice the fiendish killers,” he said. “It would be his sincere and brotherly advice to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to resign his office if he was unable to get his orders implemented towards bringing peace and stability in Karachi, Altaf demanded. The Prime Minister should step down from his office to save himself from the blame of the bloodbath of the Mohajirs, he added. staff report
