Nisar dissolves PAC committees
ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Chaudhry Nisar severely criticized the appointment of Akhter Buland Rana as the auditor general of Pakistan and dissolved all special and sub committees of the PAC, Geo News reported.
In his statement Nisar said that the appointment of the auditor general was clear indication of the government's intentions to make the PAC inactive. He added that the title of auditor general was a constitutional post and the government had appointed a controversial figure.
"Whatever credit the Prime Minister had, has now been finished after the recent appointment of the auditor general" Nisar said.
Nisar also commented on accounts of the present government being presented before the PAC and stated that the appointment of the auditor general was an attempt to undermine the honest evaluation of the committee.
