12 arrested in search operations; LEAs withdraw from Lyari

KARACHI: Overnight operations of law enforcement agencies (LEA) continued across the city on Wednesday. As a result of the operations, twelve suspects have been arrested and weapons have been recovered from their possession, Geo News reported.

However in Lyari, LEAs had to retreat because violent portestors who burnt tyres on the streets. Presently, the Rangers remain deployed around the Lyari area.

Meanwhile, the operation in Micasa Centre by the Rangers has been completed. Six suspects were taken into custody and shifted to an unknown location during the search operation.

Another six suspects were arrested from Orangi Town, Kati Pahari and its adjoining areas, while the LEAs search operations at Five Star Arcade, Sultan Complex near Civic Centre, Jumani Road and adjoining apartments located on the University Road is underway.

Search operations were also conducted by LEAs in the New Karachi areas—Khamiso Goth, Bashir Chowk and other localities.
