Pak Army supports IDPs of FATA
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Army has extended full support to relief and rehabilitation operations for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in various areas of FATA. A statement issued by a regional office of ISPR in Peshawar said on Tuesday that on the instructions of Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, army collected non-food items of day-to-day use, including furniture, beddings, shoes, clothing, kitchen items/utensils, toiletries/cosmetics for distribution among the IDPs. “Two consignments for Orakzai Agency and Kurram Agency respectively have already been dispatched which will soon be distributed,” the statement added. “While fully acknowledging the whole-hearted support of people of FATA to army in operations, Pakistan Army “is fully determined to the well-being of people of the area,” the statement said, adding “In this regard, the army has undertaken different measures to provide relief to the people like organising relief and medical camps. Rehabilitation of the IDPs is in progress in various agencies of FATA.” “Provision of basic facilities, including education, will be the main focus,” the ISPR statement concluded. staff report
