Oil prices take a large jump
* Price of petrol goes up by Rs 7.67 per litre, diesel by Rs 4.58 and HOBC by Rs 7.64
* Price of CNG increased by Rs 7.02 per kg
ISLAMABAD: The government on Tuesday increased petrol price by Rs 7.67 per litre and CNG price by Rs 7.02 per kilogramme, effective from Wednesday (today), following a rise in global oil prices, while an increase in LPG price, Rs 16 per kilogramme, would be effective from August 3.
Under the decision, the new prices of petroleum products will remain effective for the next two weeks, from August 1 to 16.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 7.67 per litre, Rs 7.64 per litre for high cctane blending component (HOBC), Rs 4.64 per litre for kerosene oil, and Rs 4.58 per litre for high speed diesel (HSD).
The price of petrol has jumped up from Rs 85.90 to Rs 93.57 per litre, HOBC from Rs 112.52 to Rs 120.16 per litre, kerosene oil from Rs 88.19 to Rs 92.83 per litre, HSD from Rs 97.21 to Rs 101.79 per litre and LDO from Rs 85.33 to Rs 90.11 per litre.
The price of jet fuel has also been raised – JP-1 from Rs 77.92 to Rs 82.36 per litre, JP-4 from Rs 69.31 to Rs 74.04 per litre and JP-8 from Rs 77.60 to Rs 82.05 per litre.
The price of CNG in Region-1 has been increased by Rs 7.02 per kg from Rs 78.65 to Rs 85.67 per kg and Rs 6.34 per kg had been increased in Region-2, from existing Rs 71.92 to Rs 78.26 per kg.
