Contempt Law: Goverment to file review petition in SC
ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to file a review petition in the Supreme Court against the judgement striking down the Contempt of Court Act 2012.A petition will also be filed seeking a review of the apex court's July 12 order asking the prime minister to write the letter to Swiss authorities.
According to sources, this decision was taken after President Asif Ali Zardari consulted coalition partners and later met Law Minister Farooq Naek.
Both review petitions will be filed prior to August 8 which is the due date for Prime Minster Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to implement the Supreme Court’s order in the NRO implementation case.
