NATO supply at Torkham border resumes

LANDIKOTAL: After a suspension of several days, NATO supplies to Afghanistan resumed through Torkham border. At least seven NATO containers crossed the Takhta Bag checkpost at Jamrud. The containers under tight security until Parang Sa checkpost reached safely, Khasadar sources said. They would move further after custom clearance, officials added.

Witnesses said that no security arrangements were made in Landikotal for the containers. The officials of the Khasadar Forces said they were not aware of the reopening of NATO supplies on Saturday, therefore, they had not made any security plan in Landikotal. AFP reported that a local intelligence official confirmed resumption of supplies and the departure of 14 NATO containers. However, it also mentioned a senior local customs official, Ubaidullah Khan, who gave the figure of seven containers. staff report/afp
