Raja, Gilani involved in illegal appointment of Tauqeer as OGRA chairman: NAB
ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has informed the apex court that incumbent Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and his predecessor ex-PM Yusuf Raza Gilani were involved in the illegal appointment of former OGRA chairman Tauqeer Sadiq, Geo News reported.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing contempt of court in Tauqeer Sadiq case here Tuesday.
The NAB deputy prosecutor general presented report on the appointment of former OGRA chairman and further informed that Tauqeer Sadiq is hiding in Lahore and Punjab police were not cooperating to apprehend him.
The investigation officer informed the Supreme Court that Raja Pervez Ashraf was chairman interview board while federal secretaries Zafar Mehmood and Nargis Sethi were members at the illegal appointment of Tauqeer Sadiq.
He said Yusuf Raza Gilani was the prime minister at that time, adding that they all were involved in the appointment.
The Chief Justice in his remarks said the court would provide protection to the investigation officer. He further said the report shows that chairman NAB was not complying with the court orders.
