Joint struggle needed to save country: Nawaz
LAHORE: Nawaz Sharif, president of his own faction of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Nawaz), said on Monday that the country was on the brink of destruction and concerted struggle was needed to free it from corrupt rulers and problems.
Nawaz was talking to independent Member of Punjab Assembly Sardar Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa who called on the PML-N president at residence in Raiwind. During the meeting, Khosa announced to join the PML-N.
Nawaz said the PML-N believed in ‘politics of principles and honesty’. He said that because of these principles, people from different schools of thought were joining his party.
He said the PML-N would not allow the rulers to cause damage to the constitution, democracy and judiciary and would stand like a solid rock against such conspiracies.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali khan and others were present.
Political observers termed joining of the PML-N by Sardar Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa an important development as he is a strong opponent of Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khan Khosa in Dera Ghazi Khan. inp
