Three killed in Pak-Iran border clash

QUETTA: At least three people, including two Pakistani nationals and an Iranian security personnel, were killed in an exchange of fire at the Pak-Iran border in Chaghai district, on Saturday.
According to sources, some local tribesmen were hunting at Kacho area, close to Iran border, when Iranian security personnel opened indiscriminate fire on them. As a result, Abdul Kareem, resident of Naukundi, and one of his companions sustained critical wounds and died on the spot. One Iranian security personnel was also killed when other companions of the tribesmen opened retaliatory firing on them, sources said.
Chaghai Deputy Commissioner Tufail Baloch confirmed the incident and said that the Iranian security personnel also took the bodies along with them. He said that it was yet to be ascertained whether the incident occurred in Balochistan’s territory or that of Iran.
