Elements behind Balochistan unrest to be exposed: Malik

 

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Saturday that those who were disturbing law and order in Balochistan while sitting abroad would soon be exposed.
Talking to the media after a meeting with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah, Malik said innocent Baloch were being subjected to torture which was intolerable. He said the government would do its best to appease angry Baloch leaders.
The interior minister praised the efforts of security agencies for restoring peace in Balochistan, saying, “We cannot ignore the role of law enforcement agencies in maintaining order in Balochistan.”
He said that the government had offered Brahamdagh Bugti a complete security cover if he returned to the country. Malik said the PPP-led government gives priority to the Baloch in all fields of life, adding that they would be included in the national mainstream.
He also claimed that foreign hands were disturbing the security situation in Balochistan.
Earlier, Malik assured the Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister that a passport office would be set up in Chilas.
The interior minister said that all-out efforts would be made to improve the standard of living of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that restoring peace in the area was the government’s priority. online
