Will protest if PM Ashraf is sacked: Gilani
LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has cautioned the judiciary against sacking current Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf saying that this will be tantamount to breaking the country.Gilani said if Prime Minister Ashraf was sacked, protests would be held.
The former prime minister who was speaking to reporters at his Lahore residence said if the judiciary was to sack elected officials it should take over the government.
He asked where it where it was written in the constitution that the prime minister should be sacked for not writing the letter to Swiss authorities.
The former prime minister added that there is an outside force always waiting to destabilise the country and this should not be given a chance to do so.
Gilani further said that the NRO was first signed between former President Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif but this would never be mentioned by anyone.
