PM greets governors, CMs on I-Day
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday exchanged Independence Day greetings with the governors and chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. According to the PM’s House spokesman, the premier also called the president and PM of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali Khan and leader of the opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Talking to Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, the PM said, “We have to put our heads together and work closely on matters of national importance.” Raja praised the role of the Punjab CM in the formation of a committee for fair distribution of electricity among the provinces. The CM assured the prime minister that he was ready to cooperate in this regard. The PM also congratulated Sindh Governor Dr Isratul Ebad Khan for being awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz. While greeting Asfandyar, Raja also inquired about his health. In a separate conversation with Chaudhry Nisar, the prime minister greeted him on the occasion of Independence Day. staff report
