Attack on political leadership feared during Eid daysISLAMABAD: The federal government has asked the provincial authorities to put the law enforcement agencies at extreme vigilance after it received credible information that political leadership in all the provincial capitals might be targeted by hostile elements during Eid days.
According to the Ministry of Interior, it received highly credible information that the leadership of various political parties in all the provincial capitals might be targeted in the coming weeks to destabilise the government and the country.
Subsequently, it directed the inspectors general of police and home secretaries of all the provinces to take special measures, especially observe extreme vigilance, to avoid any untoward incident in the coming weeks. It asked the authorities to heighten security and adopt preventive measures to frustrate the designs of the hostile elements. staff report
