Govt wants Baloch in mainstream politics, says Raja
* PM says development of Balochistan is government’s priority
* PPP, MQM enjoy cordial relations

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said on Thursday that the government was taking measures to include the Baloch leadership in mainstream politics so that they could play their role in nation building.
Talking to Science and Technology Minister Mir Changez Khan Jamali at Prime Minister’s House, Raja said that development of Balochistan was priority of the government.
Jamali thanked the prime minister for taking keen interest in the development of Balochistan. The minister also apprised Raja about ongoing development schemes in the province.
Separately, talking to a nine-member delegation led by Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Farooq Sattar, the prime minister said the federal government would extend all possible assistance for development projects in Karachi.
Raja said the leadership of MQM and PPP enjoyed cordial relations. Progress on various development projects in Karachi, including Lyari Expressway, Karachi Circular Railways, Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway, Karachi Water Supply projects and Karachi Mass Transit Schemes, were discussed during the meeting.
Also on Thursday, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam McClure Thomson called on the prime minister and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest between the UK and Pakistan.
Thomson said that Britain and Pakistan enjoyed close relationship. The prime minister recalled his meeting with his British counterpart David Cameron during his visit to Kabul and termed it useful and constructive.
Raja said that Pakistan was keen to further develop its relationship with Britain. He congratulated Britain for successfully holding London Olympics 2012.
Honorary Consul of Finland in Lahore Dr Durre Sameen, Honorary Consul of Belarus in Karachi Abdul Rauf Tabani and Honorary Consul of Romania in Faisalabad Faiq Javed also called on the prime minister.
