PM Raja discusses SC summon with law minister
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf met with Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naek to discuss his summoning by the Supreme Court in the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) case, Geo News reported Saturday.
In the NRO implementation case, the Supreme Court had sent a contempt notice to the Prime Minister and summoned him on August 27.
According to sources, the Prime Minister discussed about the apex court’s summon with the law minister where the latter briefed the PM on various legal options.
The PM and the law minister agreed that the government does not want to have any conflict with the judiciary.
PM Raja Pervez along with Farooq Naek also considered about the situation that could rise after the hearing of the pending NRO case on August 27.
