LAHORE: Estranged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khan Khosa on Saturday met PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at his Raiwind residence and reposed full confidence in the PML-N leadership.

According to party sources, Nawaz addressed Khosa’s complaints during the meeting and both patched up their differences. Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and PML-N leaders Rana Tanveer and Raja Ashfaq Sarwar were also present.

Later, talking to reporters, Sarwar said that the two leaders discussed all misunderstandings, after which Khosa told Nawaz that he “was a Muslim Leaguer and will always remain a Muslim Leaguer”.

He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had not accepted Khosa’s resignation from the post of senior adviser.

Speaking on Dost Muhammad Khosa’s resignation, Sarwar said since he was Sardar’s son, he was like a brother to them.

“Sardar sahib is a much respected person to us, he is our elder,” he said.

To a question, the PML-N leader said that Khosa was not forced to come to Raiwind to meet Nawaz.

“No, he was not forced. He has come on his own free will.”

According to party sources, Nisar met Khosa at his residence on Friday and held a successful dialogue with the disgruntled leader.

During the meeting, Khosa expressed his reservations for neglecting his role in the party. Hissamuddin Khosa, another son of Zulfikar Khosa, was also present during the discussion with Chaudhry Nisar but Dost avoided the meeting.

Zulfiqar Khosa resigned from all political offices on August 2 due to differences with the Punjab CM, while his son Dost, a former chief minister, had followed suit by tendering his resignation from party membership.

Later, Junior Khosa held a press conference and severely criticised the Punjab government and Shahbaz.

It has been learnt that the PML-N leadership had agreed to mend fences with the Khosas on condition that Dost would not be given any senior position in the party or the government, however, he could work as member of the Punjab Assembly.
