PM for joint efforts to avoid recurrence of attacks on jails
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday stressed the need for ensuring joint efforts among provinces and the federal government to avoid recurrence of attacks on prisons in the future. He was talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, who called on him at the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday. Besides discussing various matters, the prime minister also discussed with him the issue of an attack on a prison in Dera Ismail Khan and the unfortunate incident of terrorists’ escape from there. The prime minister assured the KP chief minister that the federal government was ready to provide all possible assistance to the provinces in combating terror. He expressed the hope that measures would be taken by the provincial government to address the issue. He hoped that terrorists who escaped would be arrested and the culprits of the incident punished. app
