Noted scholar Dr Farman Fatehpuri laid to rest
KARACHI: Noted writer, scholar, researcher and critic, Prof. Dr Farman Fatehpuri, who had passed away here on Saturday, was laid to rest at Karachi University's graveyard on Sunday.
Earlier, his Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayer) was offered at Masjid Khulafa-e-Rashdeen, in Block-13-D/1, Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The Namaz-e-Janaza and burial was largely attended by people belonging to various walks of life including Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Engr Adil Usman, Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, former Vice-Chancellor KU Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Dr Farooq Sattar, Rauf Farooqi, Muzammal Qureshi, Wasay Jalil, Prof Sehar Ansari, Justice (Rtd) Kazi Khalid Ali, Prof Rais Alvi, Yahya Waliullah, Prof Dr Bilal Alvi, members of SSUET's teaching faculty, Rizwan Siddiqi besides prominent writers, scholars and people belonging to fields of education, literature.
