Govt to give subsidy of Rs 7 per unit to domestic consumers

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid said on Monday that the government will give subsidy of six to seven rupees on every unit and Rs 170 billion for the electricity consumers using two hundred units per month. In an interview with Radio Pakistan, he said it has been decided that the difference between the cost and sale price of electricity would be ended. Currently electricity is being generated at the rate of fifteen rupees and sold at eight rupees per unit, he said. The government has decided to withdraw this subsidy but this facility will continue for the consumers using up to two hundred units. app
