PM sacks TDAP chief over corruptionISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the employees of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), including its chief executive, Abid Javed Akbar, over misappropriation of Rs 1.27 billion and referred the case to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The prime minister has also approved cancellation of contract of Abid Javed Akbar and approved referral of the case to FIA for initiation of criminal proceedings against the officials involved in misappropriation and loss to the national exchequer. The premier asked for initiation of disciplinary proceedings against all officers responsible, including TDAP former secretary Abdul Kabir Qazi and Director General Facilitation Abdul Karim Daud Pota. Prime Minister Nawaz has also directed a special audit of TDAP accounts of the last two years.app
