UAE embassy marks ‘Zayed Humanitarian Day’
ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Essa Abdullah al Basha al Noaimi hosted an Iftar dinner on Monday to commemorate “Zayed Humanitarian Day”, which was celebrated last week to commemorate the 9th anniversary of the departure of the founder of UAE, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al Nahyan.
The ceremony was attended by a number of officials and ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries, representatives of the UAE companies in Islamabad, Pakistani businessmen and members of the embassy and media.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador al Noaimi thanked the guests for attending the event, saying, “It provided an opportunity for humanitarian interaction”.
He said the embassy arranged Iftar and distributed food parcels among the poor throughout the holy month of Ramazan. This was funded by humanitarian organisations such as Khalifa Bin Zayed al Nahyan Foundation and the Red Crescent. Al Noaimi described the “humanitarian interaction as cornerstone in the bilateral relations of UAE and Pakistan”. staff report
