PM Sharif urges unity against terrorism
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Friday urged the nation to stand united against extremism, terrorism and show solidarity with families who have lost their dear ones in terror-related incidents.
“I appeal to all of my Pakistani brethren to show solidarity with the grieved families who have been deprived of pleasures. They should be conveyed that we are standing by them in this hour of distress,” the prime minister said in his message to nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Prime Minister Sharif thanked Allah Almighty for bestowing another day of Eid-ul-Fitr in our lives.
He said this year on the eve of Eid, we share the grief and sorrow of the families whose dear ones have lost their lives in the fight against terrorism. “Be they are youth of Chilas or Machh, patriotic citizens of Karachi or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, residents of Balochistan, Sindh or Punjab, we all are with the bereaved families who were celebrating Eid sans their beloved ones. Their consolation is our national obligation,” the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif said it was unfortunate that in the holy month of Ramazan, some elements killed innocent people and deprived the nation of numerous services they had been offering to establish peace in the country.
He said this year we were observing Eid only as a religious obligation and were standing by the saddened families who have been deprived of Eid festivity.
The Prime Minister also saluted the personnel of law enforcement agencies, particularly the police and armed forces, who strongly resisted the nefarious designs of the terrorists and set a history by sacrificing their lives.
“On this day, I appeal to the nation to unite on a national agenda against terrorism and extremism and ensure masses welfare and safeguard economic prosperity of the country. I am confident that we can defeat anti-state elements through national unity and discipline,” Prime Minister Sharif remarked.
He reiterated his resolve to revive the smiles on people’s faces, those were being taken away. “We will bring back peaceful Eid day and a secure and prosperous country. In future, Eid day would never be meant to separate people from their families rather it would unite them. We all will have to struggle to achieve this,” Nawaz Sharif added.
