Qaim meets LEAs, orders stern security in Karachi
Staff Report
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed law enforcement agencies to take “foolproof” measures for security of all places hosting Eid prayers including mosques and imambargahs.
He issued these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting on law and order held at the CM House here on Thursday. Inspector General Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch, AIG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo, AIG CID Muhammad Iqbal, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed security arrangements during Eid, and the officers also briefed the CM about recent incidents of terrorism; especially the Tuesday blasts in Lyari and other areas of Karachi.
Shah directed the officials to increase patrolling by police and Rangers personnel in sensitive areas, conduct snap checking, and ensure security arrangements in the city. He asked them to make coordinated efforts and strengthen intelligence network to curb terrorist activities.
Bilawal condemns Quetta blast: Patron-in-Chief Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the bomb blasts in Police Civil Lines, Quetta. While expressing profound grief and shock over the incident, he said that the elements spilling the blood of innocent people were “open enemies of democracy and Pakistan”.
