Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated in Pakistan

KARACHI: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in Pakistan today (Friday) with religious zeal, fervor and festivity. During Eid prayers, Pakistani’s prayed for the well being of their country and for the elimination of terrorism.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ebad and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah offered their prayers at a mosque near Bilawal House in Karachi, while President elect Mamnoon Hussain offered his prayers at the State Guest House.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with his family members offered Eid prayers at their Raiwind residence. Following prayers, the prime minister congratulated people on Eid. Governor Punjab Muhammad Sarwar and other high ranking officials offered their prayers at the Badshahi Mosque.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry attended Eid-ul-Fitar congregation at Eidgah Toghi Road in Quetta, while Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achazai offered Eid prayers at Governor House. Chief Minister Balochistan, Abdul Malik Baloch and majority of the provincial cabinet members and legislatures celebrated the auspicious occasion in their native towns.
