CM Shahbaz orders recruitment of 4,000 policemen
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the recruitment of 4,000 policemen for the province on Tuesday.
The additional policemen are being recruited as part of short and long term measures for providing security to foreigners. The directives were issued during a high level meeting chaired by the chief minister to evaluate the security situation in Punjab for Independence Day.
During the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that law and order was a top priority for the province as he called on concerned authorities to ensure fool proof security on August 14. Authorities were also directed to ensure that the ban on one wheeling in the province is upheld.
Sharif added that negligence will not be tolerated in maintaining law and order.
