Free treatment in KP govt hospitals

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Shaukat Yousafzai announced on Wednesday provision of free treatment in all the state-run hospitals from Thursday (today).

He said recruitments of doctors, paramedics and nurses on adhoc basis would start from Friday to overcome the shortage of doctors and other staff. He made this announcement during flag-hoisting ceremony in Central Police Lines to celebrate the 67th Independence Day. He said doctors and other staff would be available in all the district and tehsil hospitals as well as in the rural health centres and basic health units by September 16. He reiterated his pledge that commitment of PTI of ensuring better health facilities to the people at their doorsteps would be materialized in letter and spirit.
