CJ takes notice against oil and gas companies of Sanghar

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has taken notice against oil and gas companies of Sanghar district for spreading environmental pollution in the vicinity. The court has issued notices to the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) managing director and attorney general of Pakistan for August 19 in response to a plea of Tando Adam Tehsil Bar Association President Abdul Hakeem Khoso. Khoso submitted that oil and gas companies of Sanghar were spreading environmental pollution in the area “instead of providing the facilities of infrastructure, jobs and gas to the local people”. The hearing of the case has been fixed for tomorrow (Monday). staff report
