Islamabad fiasco: Probe committee presents report to Nisar
ISLAMABAD: The probe committee into Islamabad incident has produced its report to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Sources said on Tuesday that the committee gave clean chit to police and local administration and didn’t suggest any action against the officers concerned.
Islamabad police IG Sikander Hyat told the committee that Islamabad incident was not a police failure as they had planned to arrest the gunman alive without causing any harm to his wife and children.
He told the committee that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Zamurud Khan himself decided to overcome Sikander.
The committee headed by Additical Interior Secretary Athar Sial and also comprising Senior Joint Secretary Umar Hamid Khan and Director National Crisis Management Director Fareed Khan prepared its report within three days.
