ATC orders to produce Pervez Musharraf on September 10

QUETTA: The Quetta Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) expressed its displeasure over non-production of General (r) Pervez Musharraf before the court in Nawab Akbhar Khan Bugti’s murder case and ordered him to be produced before the court in the next hearing.

The court once again issued arrest warrants of other accused in Nawab Bugti’s murder case, including former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and former governor Owais Ahmed Ghani.

Judge Ismail Baloch heard the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti’s murder case filed by his son Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, which was being heard in ATC on the orders of Balochistan High court.

During the hearing, former Balochistan interior minister Mir Shoaib Nosharawani appeared before the court in person while the counsel of former federal interior minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao also appeared.

The judge expressed displeasure at the team investigating Bugti’s murder over their failure to produce Musharraf for the hearing despite issuance of his production orders.

The investigation officer informed the court that the Home Department was working in this regard.

At this, the court while issuing order for producing the former president before the court on September 10, issued arrest warrants of Shaukat Aziz, former governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and former Dera Bugti DCOi Abdul Samad Lashi once again.

Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was killed in a military operation on Aug 26, 2006, ordered by Musharraf who was the president and army chief at the time.
