Indian Deputy HC summoned over LoC firing

ISLAMABAD: The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned to the Foreign Office on Wednesday to lodge a protest over Indian firing at the Line of Control (LoC).

A captain of the Pakistan Army was martyred and a soldier wounded in the latest incident of Indian forces opening unprovoked firing at the LoC.

Indian forces opened unprovoked fire at Shakma sector near Skardu on Tuesday night at 11:15 PM. Pakistani forces responded to the firing and the exchange of fire continued for several hours.

Following Indian allegations of the Pakistan Army killing five Indian soldiers at the LoC, relations between the South Asian neighbours have deteriorated. India has repeatedly violated the LoC ceasefire agreement between the countries.
