PIA plane escapes mishap in Bahrain
LAHORE: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, with several passengers onboard, escaped a mishap after its engine suddenly stopped just before takeoff from the Bahrain International Airport on Wednesday.
The PK-290 flight of the national airline was grounded at the Bahrain International Airport immediately after the technical fault.
After 12 hours of delay, an alternative flight carried the passengers to the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
Meanwhile, Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel at the Lahore airport recovered a pistol and bullets from the luggage of a passenger flying to Jeddah
According to ASF sources, a pistol was found in the baggage of a passenger named Usman. The ASF personnel handed over the suspect to the police.
In his statement, Usman said that his family members might have put the pistol in his luggage by mistake, and that he was not aware of it. inp
