PTI resumes protest on Mall Road

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and leaders have once again started protesting at the Mall Road.

PTI started their protest shortly after detained party leaders and workers were released from police stations. PTI Punjab President, Ejaz Chaudhry after the release had called on PTI district committees to protest outside press clubs across the province.

DIG Operations, Rao Tahir had announced that PTI workers and leaders would be arrested again if they blocked roads.

Earlier, police arrested several PTI workers and leaders, uprooting their hunger-strike camp which was setup on Mall Road to protest against the alleged rigging in the by-elections on PP-150.

The police crackdown drew strong criticism from the PTI chairman Imran Khan and other senior leaders.
