PM tells CM to ‘respect’ people’s right to protest
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday peaceful protest was an inalienable right of all Pakistanis and political parties, and directed the Punjab government to ensure no violation in this regard. Talking to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the phone, the prime minister said democracy and peaceful protests were interlinked. He said the government of Punjab must ensure that no authority creates any impediment in the way of this constitutional right of all citizens, including political parties. He said all issues should be resolved through dialogue. app
