Sartaj Aziz terms Karzai's visit to Pakistan successful

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign and Security affairs Sartaj Aziz has termed Afghan President Hamid Karzai's visit to Pakistan significant as both the sides agreed to further expand bilateral relations and also removed their mistrust.

He said that Islamabad and Kabul want to extend cooperation in trade, economic and power sectors.

He maintained that Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to accelerate construction work on Jalalabad-Torkham road and build motorway between Kabul and Peshawar.

Saraj Aziz vowed that Pakistan would resolve problems of Afghan traders, which they are facing in transit trade.

He said both sides agreed that stakes holders in Afghanistan should resolve Afghan conflict.

The advisor added that Pakistan would support Afghan led and Afghan owned peace process.

Sartaj Aziz stated that the visit helped forge understanding and remove misgivings between the two countries and two sides acknowledged that their peace and stability was inter-linked.
