Nawaz, Kulsoom invite Hashmi to join PML-N
Ex-lawmaker says he will announce his decision soonMULTAN – Former lawmaker and senior politician Javed Hashmi on Wednesday said that he would announce his decision soon, as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his wife Kulsoom Nawaz have invited him to join the Pakistan Muslim League-N.
Talking to journalists at his residence, he said that both the prime minister and the first lady have invited him to join the Pakistan Muslim League-N. To a question, the senior politician said that he would announce his decision soon to join the ruling party.
“I want to join a major political party according to wishes of voters in my constituency,” he said in a meeting with former provincial minister Ehsanuddin Qureshi on Tuesday. Hashmi lauded Nawaz Sharif, saying he (Nawaz) was kindhearted person as the prime minister was opposed to de-seating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmakers.
About Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s speeches, he accused him of treason and demanded the government to bring him back for trial. On Tuesday, Interior Affairs Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan asked Altaf Hussain to stop using provocative speeches against intelligence departments, saying case against the London-based MQM chief was a matter of judiciary not political.
