MQM submits resolutions against Zardari, Imran in Sindh Assembly
INP

KARACHI - The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Friday submitted resolutions in the Sindh Assembly against Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Zardari and Pakistan Tehreeh-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, in a tit-for-tat response shortly after the House passed resolutions condemning contentious statements by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

According to the resolutions submitted by the MQM, Asif Zardari and Imran Khan had given controversial remarks against the military and national institutions.

Speaking to reporters outside the Sindh Assembly shortly after passage of a resolution condemning Altaf Hussain, MQM leader Muhammad Hussain said there was an understanding that no resolution would be brought against any party in the assembly session.

MQM leader Syed Sardar Ahmed said that Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani did not listen to the MQM lawmakers, and that the resolutions against Altaf Hussain were passed without hearing the concerns of MQM lawmakers. Ahmed said that proper rules and procedures were not followed in adopting the resolution and that the session was immediately adjourned after the resolution was rushed through the House.

The resolutions against the MQM chief were tabled by the PTI, Pakistan Muslim League-F and the Pakistan Muslim League-N.
