US Senate confirms David Hale as ambassador to Pakistan

WASHINGTON: The United States Senate ratified the appointment of David Hale as the US Ambassador to Pakistan who will replace Richard Olsen.

While his appointment was announced by the US President back in March this year, he will be taking charge upon the expiry of Olsen’s tenure.

Hale has previously served as a special envoy for the Middle East as well as as Ambassador to Jordan, with his last appointment as the US Ambassador to Lebanon.

He has also served as at the State Department as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
